Removing/Installing The Starter
as done on a 944s

Tools:
  19 mm wrench or socket		 Parts:
   Pre 85.5 Starter: 047-911-023-AV
   Post 85.5 Starter: 951-604-101-V
 

Removal

  1. The starter is marked in blue.
  2. Disconnect the wires. In the Red area. There are 2 terminals. Mine had a large terminal with one wire and a small terminal with 2 wires. If your wires look similar mark them in such a way as you will be able to reinstall them to the correct terminal.
  3. Remove the 2 19mm bolts.
  4. Starter should fall out. Catch it!


Install

  1. Do the removal backwards.
